Message But your rotor explanation is incorrect. Larger diameter rotors do actually provide more stopping power, because of the fact that the distance from the hub is greater, therefore more torque can be applied with the same amount of clamping force from the caliper.

Now, that means jack if the tires actually lock up. In real life (ABS aside) it allows the same amount of stopping power less work, meaning less heat and fade.
